| Administrator  | Just when you thought the soap opera that is Pakistan cricket couldn't be more ridiculous than the Bold and the Beautiful, the PCB has handed out bans and fines to seven of the players that were on the winless tour of Australia. The most serious punishment was dealt out to Younis Khan and Mohammad Yousuf, who are now effectively banned from playing for Pakistan again. The board stopped short of calling their bans "life bans", as that would prevent them from playing domestic or county cricket. This is a ban purely to stop them playing for their country. Shoaib Malik and Rana Naved-ul-Hasan were slapped with one year bans, while Shahid Afridi and both of the Akmal's copped a fine and were put on probation. The specifics of most of their indiscretions haven't been released, but the PCB did release a statement. "Mohammad Yousuf and Younis Khan, keeping in view their infighting which resulted in bringing down the whole team, their attitude has a trickledown effect which is a bad influence for the whole team should not be part of national team in any format," it said. The Akmal brothers were fined for how they carried on when it emerged Kamran Akmal would be dropped as a result of his stunningly realistic Geraint Jones impersonation behind the stumps.
