| Administrator ![]() | The boss of the Professional Footballers' Association is confident John Terry and Wayne Bridge could play alongside each other in South Africa, despite the pair not speaking to each other as the result of Terry's after hours activities. Fabio Capello will decide this week whether to strip John Terry of the England leadership, after the lifting of the injunction meant Terry's alleged affair with Bridge's ex-missus was made public. Further allegations were published in the Sunday papers, suggesting Terry had paid for an abortion as a result of the affair. But Gordon Taylor, the PFA chief, says there's a chance the pair could still play alongside each other for England despite the very public falling out. "You have two players who have had a bust-up over serious personal reasons. We have had these kind of situations at clubs before," Taylor said. "I can recall when a Manchester United team won the treble [in 1999]. It was said that Andy Cole and Teddy Sheringham weren't exactly speaking, but they were working very well together as a partnership up front. Terry will speak with Capello on his return from the gaffer's holiday home in Switzerland, where he has been recovering from a knee op. The PFA, much like the FA, seem to be firmly sat on the fence: "It is not a case of taking sides, but of understanding the situation and trying to realise the depth of the problem. Make sure that nobody is, in football terms, disadvantaged by it." Capello rates Terry's leadership among the playing group and it has been reported he may wait until England's March 3 friendly against Africa Cup of Nations winners Egypt to assess the mood of the squad before making a final decision.
