Soggy Yankees fans braved a wet Yankee Stadium to witness history when Derek Jeter surpassed Lou Gehrig's hitting record in the pinstriped uniform on Friday.

With the home crowd on their feet Jeter skimmed an inside-out grounder past first base to reach 2,722 hits and in doing so emptying his own dugout as team mates rushed to congratulate the talented short stop.

At age 35 Jeter is showing no sign of letting up as he stars with both bat and glove for a Yankee outfit that is poised to take control of the postseason*. He could quite possibly become the games greatest hitter.

I have no idea about baseball but i'm good at stick baseball but even better at stick cricket!Stick cricket is the best game on the pc ever and cricket is the best sport ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
