| Administrator ![]() | Miguel Cabrera has apologised to his Detroit colleagues for being drunk last weekend as the side attempted to win the AL Central title. Cabrera insisted that the alcohol hadn't negatively affected his performance: "No, no, no. I was good. I was focused," he said. The 26-year-old blew a 0.26 BAC reading - more than three times the local limit for drivers - and, according to a source consulted by ESPN, his reading was enough to suggest he may still have been under the influence during the game. The source said it would take an experienced drinker 13 hours to metabolize alcohol that had reached 0.26 - and Cabrera was picked up by police at 6am, roughly 12 hours before the Tigers' game got underway.
