ODI Series vs West Indies
After a promising start to the series by winning the twenty/20 match and taking out the first ODI in good fashion, Zimbabwe were unable to continue their momentum while the West Indies were able to get their act together after a poor start to the series and win four ODI matches in a row. While it was a poor result in the end for Zimbabwe, they did show good signs throughout the series and were able to maintain pressure on the Windies in the best part of the series.

The Standouts
Elton Chigumbura was Zimbabwe's leading run scorer in the series, scoring 148 runs at an average of 29 and also had reasonable succes with the ball picking up 6 wickets at an average of 24. It's not surprising to hear that he was able to earn himself a contract with Northamptonshireas he is a goodl all round talent.

Gayle's class proved to be a handful for Zimbabwe.

Vusi Sibanda showed good promise with the bat after hitting a well executed 95 in the 1st ODI.

Elton Chigumbura had all the right strokes.

Other News:
Elton Chigumbura. has earned a contract with English county side Northamptonshire for the 2010 season. So well done to him and I'm sure it will be a very good experience for him. (http://www.cricinfo.com/northamptons...ry/452063.html)

And how about the fight your spinners in Utseya, Price and Cremer put on? It's a shame Zimbabwe went back to their typical selves in the last 3 ODI's

Seem to have a good bunch of spinners developing. Shame the same can't be said for the batsmen.
