Cricket With Balls takes you through day 3

Australia

Their top order is playing like they don’t want to win the game.

Their bottom order is playing like they don’t just want to win the game, but they want to piss South Africa off. Clarke & Roy should be ashamed of their half wit attacking shots.

South Africa
I can’t work out South Africa at all in this match, are they waiting for someone to step up and do something spectacular for them to...

Cricket With Balls takes you through the days play.

Australia

Got caught with their business in their hands early, but 350 is enough in the first innings at the Waca these days. Still have to bowl well ofcourse, but this is their highest first innings score at the Waca for some time.

They needed two pretty good comebacks to get there, but one thing they know, South Africa is still going to go defensive way too early and give them back the momentum.

Why Australia should win?

Cricket With Balls answers all the small questions.

Beating Australia at home is just not done.

Australia still has a pretty good side, it may not be suited to the subbie, but it still works in Australia. Johnson is fast becoming one of the best quick bowlers on the planet and I have never felt weirder saying that.

Jacques Kallis, although it seems odd to say it, needs a big series. After failing to make an impression in England, even a home series against Bangladesh didn't provide the hoped-for opportunity to pad his stats.

Kallis now has the lowest average of anyone in the South African top 6, and although he is to some degree indispensible, a lack of both runs and wickets has meant that he is still stranded short both of 10,000 Test runs (199 to go) and 250 Test wickets (currently on 245)....

If it ever happened...

...what would an Australia A test team, and even an Australia B test team, look like?

I could imagine they would be fairly strong.

For example, the Australia A team would be made of players with Australian contracts (for the most part), so:

Marsh
Jaques
Hodge
D. Hussey
Voges
Watson
Ronchi
Noffke
Casson
Bollinger
Siddle

And an Australia B team (non-contracted players):...
