Is this really racist?

Have you heard the latest news that KFC is racist?

Yup, their ad which features Aussie Mick stuck in an awkward situation amongst West Indian fans has caused a furore in the United States. Apparently Mick is racist for using a bucket of chicken to "calm" the situation.

Racist? No friggin' way! It's a harmless ad making light of being stuck in the middle of the other teams rowdy fans. Is it a bit thoughtless in this "racist" world? Maybe but geez people, lighten up!

Anyway, if you haven't seen the video, watch it below and then leave your comments.

EDIT: Listen to these two clowns discuss the ad....

Argh, I hate people going over the top calling every little thing racist. Do the Americans not know what it is like to be at a sport match? Apparently it's racist because African Americans stereotypically like fried chicken. Oh man...

It's only Americans. Who gives a f*ck what they think?

I'm sure the West Indian players would have seen the ad and if they had a problem they would have made their views heard.

That's not racist at all! It would have been racist if he had angered them by talking about their skin colour(no offence meant) lol

Just for the record, I'm part West Indian and part Indian (but still a proud Australian) and I don't find it racist at all. Those tards don't realise that we're smart enough to distinguish between West Indians and African Americans, that West Indians love to party at the cricket and that, unlike them, our funny bones aren't surgically removed from birth so as to prepare us to invade the next small oil-rich Arab nation.

As best as I can tell, the Americans that are calling it racist believe it is because they see Mick as saying "THIS IS AN UNCOMFORTABLE SITUATION BECUASE I AM WHITE AND I AM SURROUNDED BY BLACK PEOPLE WHO ARE BLACK AND LIKE FRIED CHICKEN."

    Or something like that.

    Honestly...

Why do people cry about the smallest things these days? Comedians are becoming more and more stifled because of complaints from whinging ****bags like them lot.

From my experiances, it's apparent that you can only be racist if you're White.

*No offense to any members of this forum. I'm only going by MY experiances.

KFC could've avoided the whole thing by not picking the most predominantly black nation in world cricket to pacify with fried chicken. Having an Aussie in with a bunch of aggressive England fans then having him sort it out with KFC would've been a much safer bet.

It's odd how Australia has a much more relaxed attitude to racism than UK.

Because no one in Britain is racist right?

Anyone that thinks this ad is racist is in fact racist themselves.

Talking to mum about it, there is no way its racist. It would be racist if there were a group of black people and white people segregated from each other, which funnily enough happened America on no so long ago. Hypocritis.

Howzat racist? Come on! Get a brain USA! I reckon US is jealous because that we're more famous at sport then them, and then they get a stupid reason to believe that's racist!

Who has been more racist in the world? USA! e.g. being racist towards African Americans, but now Obama is prez. which is all good.

WHY THE HELL DO THEY GIVE A DAMN ABOUT THIS?? IF THE WEST INDIANS GOT RACISM, THEN THEY SHOULD SAY IT, NOT USA!!

    @ Superhoops.

Having the poms in the ad would make no sense at all. They've gone with the Wwest Indies because they're touring here this summer.
