It would be hardly astonishing if I hear that in the days gone by, a large majority of the young, aspiring spin bowlers turned out to be leg spinners. It was obvious, because it was the leg spinners who always dominated the wickets column, in almost every match played then. They were the bowlers who produced those deliveries, which made every spectator go - "Wow!" in amazement. They were far more popular and successful than the off-spinners.
