Australia has struck an early blow in the build up to the ashes series, with Haley Bracken – wife of Nathan Bracken – winning the StickCricket.com Ashes’ Battle of the Babes.

More than ten thousand cricket fans and users of Internet phenomenon Stick Cricket (www.stickcricket.com) – the world’s most popular online cricket game – judged the worlds’ top pavilion pin-ups.

Former Newcastle Knights cheerleader, Haley Bracken, was voted the fittest Ashes’ cricket cutie with almost one in three votes (30.05 per cent).

Haley’s husband Nathan has recently moved up to fourth in the ICC one day international (ODI) bowler rankings after a terrific performance in the final of the ICC trophy. Director of Stick Sports, Chris Berry said, “Nathan Bracken was heroic against the West Indies. With the fittest wife in the Ashes series, Nathan is sure to be a hero in the pavilion as well as on the pitch this summer.”

Kevin Pietersen’s fiancé and star of pop group Liberty X, Jessica Taylor came close second with 25 per cent of the vote.

The results of the Ashes’ Babe Battle are as follows:

1. Hayley Bracken (30.05%)

2. Jessica Taylor (25.74%)

3. Liz Kemp (19.87%)

4. Georgie Willis (12.63%)

5. Rachael Flintoff (11.71%)

The impact Stick Cricket has had amongst young male professionals has led to accusations that the free online game has negatively affected the GDP of Great Britain and Australia.

Chris Berry continues, “The online debate about cricket WAGs has compounded an already serious problem for businesses of time wasting at work due to Stick Cricket.”

Gearing up to the biggest series in cricket, Australian fans proved more patriotic than their English counterparts. Haley Bracken (Mrs Nathan Bracken), Liz Kemp (Mrs Brett Lee) Georgie Willis (Mrs Simon Katich) took the top three spots in Australia, totalling 84 percent of the Australian vote.

Jessica Taylor (‘Mrs Kevin Pietersen’) was England fans’ favourite with more than 30 percent of the English vote, Haley Bracken came a very close second with 26 percent.

“This is a real blow to English cricket ahead of the Ashes,” says Chris Berry. “England may hold the Ashes, but Australia has the fitter WAGs.”
