Red Bull denies Webber rumours
by The Bunyip January 6, 2010
Red Bull Racing has been forced to deny reports suggesting that Mark Webber will be let go at the conclusion of the 2010 season, to make way for Kimi Raikkonen.
Speculation was growing that the former Ferrari champion would return to F1 to in 2011, to drive alongside Sebastian Vettel. But a Red Bull adviser Dr Helmut Marko claimed the reports were "pure rumour". "Raikkonen is going to drive the rallies in 2010, and what happens after that, we will see." Webber broke with tradition during the 2009 F1 season, abandoning his trend of failing miserably - and he enjoyed some success, winning the German and Brazilian GP's. The team admits that Webber's cycling accident affected his performances early on in the season but maintains he "quickly got on top of it and his recuperation was excellent". Full story |
