'I felt like a little boy with a toy'

Michael Schumacher recorded the second fastest time of the day in his first round of pre-season testing since announcing his comeback.

Hundreds of fans turned out to watch the testing, as Schumacher took his first proper spin behind the wheel of his Mercedes - instead of the Ferrari that powered him to five titles.

Schumacher completed 23 laps and was just 0.3 seconds off the fastest time of the day - and was quicker than his Mercedes colleague Nico Rosberg.

"It was just like starting all over again. I was shocked on the first lap, extremely excited in the second and then I just felt like a little boy with a new toy. I feel very good. I have worked out very well, prepared myself extremely precisely," he said.
