Gambhir scores yet another ton
by The Bunyip January 20, 2010

Virender Sehwag can sleep soundly tonight, feeling much less worried about his pre-match jabs at Bangladesh than he was after the first day of play.

Sehwag called the Bangles an "ordinary side", who will find it "difficult to take 20 Indian wickets". The vice-captain has a habit of making opposition bowlers look foolish, yet after day one - in which eight Indian wickets fell - he looked a tad silly.

But India, ranked number one in the world in Tests, is now firmly in control of the match - having set the Bangles an intimidating chase of 415 in the fourth innings. By the close the hosts had lost two wickets.

India's strong position is largely thanks to Gautam Gambhir's fifth ton in as many Tests - some of which were scored on pitches flatter than Keira Knightley's chest.

But it's remarkable achievement anyway, as it makes him just the fourth player in Test history to do so - alongside The Don, Mo Yousuf and Jacques Kallis.

He has now scored a half century in 10 consecutive Tests.
