Its mid November and the start of another long summer of cricket at home after several months on the road. This summer Australia will play the West Indies in 3 tests , 5 one day internationals and 2 T20s for the Frank Worrell trophy.
26th-30th Nov: 1st Test, Gabba 4th-8th Dec: 2nd Test, Adelaide Oval 16th-20th Dec: 3rd Test, Waca *Aus vs Pak tests* 7th Feb: 1st OD, MCG 9th Feb: 2nd ODI, Adelaide Oval 12th Feb: 3rd ODI, SCG 14th Feb: 4th ODI, Gabba 19th Feb: 5th ODI, MCG 21st Feb: 1st T20, Bellerive Oval 23rd feb: 2nd T20 SCG. Squads: Australia: Ricky Ponting (c), Michael Clarke, Simon Katich, Shane Watson, Marcus North, Michael Hussey, Brad Haddin, Doug Bollenger, Ben Hilfenhaus, Nathan Hauritz, Mitchell Johnson, Peter Siddle West Indies (tests): Chris Gayle (c), Adrian Barath, Sulieman Benn, Dwayne Bravo, Shivnarine Chanderpaul, Narsingh Deonarine, Travis Dowlin, Brendan Nash, Denesh Ramdin (wk), Ravi Rampaul, Kemar Roach, Darren Sammy, Ramnaresh Sarwan, Jerome Taylor, Gavin Tonge. Who will win? Discuss. I'm tipping an Aussie domination in the tests and a win in the ODIs, T20s to be split 1-1. Last edited by dazza 1990; November 19, 2009 at 10:20 PM. |

Gutted to see Fidel Edwards won't be playing due to an injury, I always love watching him bowl.
This is the West Indies team I'd like to see: 1.Chris Gayle (C) 2.Adrian Barath 3.Ramnaresh Sarwan 4.Brendan Nash 5.Shivnarine Chanderpaul 6.Dwayne Bravo 7.Denesh Ramdin (WK) 8.Jerome Taylor 9.Sulieman Benn 10.Ravi Rampaul 11.Kemar Roach Not a bad side. |

Not a good side either.
Can't see anything happening this summer except Australia dominating the Windies and the Pakistanis. Discussion point here. Hilditch and co (the selectors) have pretty much guaranteed Mike Hussey a place for the First Test by asking him to sit out the mid-week Shield game, and Michael Clarke is guaranteed a place if he's fit. There's also been talk of Phillip Hughes getting a recall. If Clarke's not fit, Hughes fits straight in and Watson drops down the order, but if Clarke is fit, will they dispense with Hughes or will they drop someone else (Hussey/Watson most likely candidates)? What does everyone reckon? Last edited by kirby; November 13, 2009 at 10:13 AM. |

I'm not sold on Watson yet, drop him for Hughes, unless Hussey's poor form continues in the test series then drop him.
This summer will be a good chance to blood some new players while we have some easier opponants over here. |

dont under estimate Chanderpaul and Gayle but if this series is a walk in the park let hussey play all the games so he can proove himself and 121 for your last test innings isn't bad and 313 in a ODI series isn't bad either.

Not as a Test quality all-rounder. He's barely a first-class quality all-rounder with that medium pace shite he bowls, and he's yet to prove himself with the bat in Tests. Hughes all the way.

Oh come on people Watson hasn't done anything wrong. He's been a standout performer recently and droppping him is just ludacris. Hughes will come in when there is a spot, till then he can wait
