Stick Football is 'best online game'
Stick Football is the best football game on the internet. And it's not just us that thinks so!
The readers of Soccerlens have voted Stick Football as the 'best online football game of 2009', with 39% of the vote - probably enough support to 'win' an Iranian election (or the US Presidency, circa 2000), should we choose to contest it.
Even the Premier League's official fantasy football game could only manage second behind the juggernaut that is Stick Football.
In the announcement, Stick Football was compared to FIFA 2010 on the iPhone as a game with a "simple yet addictive playing experience".
Stick Football shared the awards stage with former Stick Cricket commentator Rob Smyth, who is apparently still writing - albeit for a much smaller website.
Over 9000 votes were cast in the in the somewhat pointless poll (we're just bitter we didn't get a trophy, a chance to bore everyone shitless with a self-important victory speech or at least a night of free piss at a wanky ceremony), that will rank up there - this year at least - with the Oscars in terms of prestige.
And unlike possible Oscar winner Avatar, Stick Football cost a helluva lot less than $500m to make. Stick Football 3D, however...
