Well, Liverpool are in the crappy competition now, but I'll still be watching them passionately... on five. Oh dear (their dislike for capital letters frequently pisses me off). But over in the good competition, we still have three English clubs. Obviously, I'd love nothing better than for all of them to get owned . But here's some (reasonably) unbiased previews, and the key players for all the English teams.

Well, no. The Americans didn't actually give us any money. but Rafa, the so-called *ahem* genius in the transfer market, secured Maxi Rodriguez on a free transfer. Which was quite cool. Anyway, most people will probably only know him for one goal - the extra-time winner for Argentina against Mexico in the 2nd Round of the 2006 World Cup. Saturday 12th December

Birmingham 1-0 West Ham

Birmingham saw off the East Londoners to draw level with Liverpool on points in the table (before the Reds' game against Arsenal). Lee Bowyer scored against his former team, in the 2nd half, after a communication meltdown between the West Ham defenders. Bowyer, in respect for West Ham, chose not to celebrate the goal. Birmingham were probably deserved winners, as they dominated much of the opening half, but West Ham countered...

Jav December 9, 2009
There has been 4 Champions League matches involving English teams that have taken place - here are the match reports:

Tuesday 8th December

Wolfsburg 1-3 Manchester Utd

Michael Owen showed the reson why he should be in the England squad - a well-taken hat-trick in Germany with a depleted side. Michael Carrick and Darren Fletcher were playing in defence, with regular duo Ferdidnand and Vidic out with injury. The game was quite quiet in the first half, with...
